SKI REPORT
For the most up-to-date information please click here.
Here are the highlights of the ski report.
Most pistes are open and groomed, and only one lift closed all day.
5 cm extra snow fell during the day, yesterday, on the glacier,
and there was a reasonable freeze last night,
but it will warm up quickly.
Slow down on the lower slopes in the mornings.
The heavy grooming machines can sink
causing uneven areas, that then freeze hard.
The same lower slopes are also tricky
when the snow has been warmed -
heavier and more chopped up as the day goes on.
Remember - we have fast comfy lifts
that will take you down without stressing your legs.
ON BELLEVARDE
The G was only piste not groomed.
The Scara racers are on the OK, Orange, Raye this morning.
The last wall of the Epaule du Charvet is closed
but you can cut into the bottom of the Santons.
The Brinzei touring track and lower part of the Diebold
are also snow free and closed.
The top part of the Santons will probably close early
due to the risk of an avalanche.
Don’t be there if this happens.
NEVER ski or board on a closed piste.
ON SOLAISE
The 3000 lift and piste and
The lower part of the Marmottons are closed all day.
The upper part of the Marmottons, Cugnai
S and Ecurreil touring track were not groomed
The L may close early due to the risk of an avalanche engulfing this gully.
LE FORNET
Everything is open except the Tunnel
The Foret, Pre chemin and Table d’Orientation were not groomed.
ON PISAILLAS
The Combe du Geant may close due to avalanche risk.
The Aigulle Pers was not groomed.
The avalanche risk today is 2 out of 5.
Though much more dangerous at the peaks of the Pisaillas.
So, if you are heading to Col du Four, or similar..
Remember..
new snow + wind + warmth = slidy slabs
If you are heading off piste –
Do all your companions
Know what they are doing ?
Do they ALL have a beep, probe and shovel ?
Have they ever practised ?
Your life could depend on this.
Any doubts – ski with a mountain guide.
If you are going to Tignes, use either the Tommeuse or Borsat chairlifts.
Our multi activity and cross country tracks
on the top of Solaise and in the Manchet are open.
A lot of the walking tracks at village level can no longer be
groomed (little or very soft snow) so are officially closed.
Could be a nice day to walk along the Col de l’Iseran,
Frances highest mountain pass.
