WEATHER
We start with sunshine and, apparently will finish the day with
a refreshing layer of snow, just above the level of the village.
Up to 7 centimetres at 3000 metres.
Wind won't be strong, and it quite warm.
At 10.00 the temperature is
- +5° in the Village.
- 0° on Solaise.
- -2° on Bellevarde.
- -6° on Pisaillas.
The maximum temperature at 2000 metres will be +5°.
ROADS
We are not expecting any problems during the day but if you are travelling during the night, read carefully.
Work is starting on the Siaix Tunnel, on the road between Albertville and Bourg, near Aime.
Much needed and will improve the drainage, lighting, electrics, signals and ventilation.
The tunnel will be closed, in both directions, Monday to Friday 22.00 – 05.00.
There will be a diversion via Notre Dame du Pré
but nothing over 3.5 tons or longer than 5 metres, unless you are driving a rescue vehicle.
As always, when approaching roadworks
Slow down - Don’t run them over the work folk…..
SKI REPORT
For the most up-to-date information please click here.
Here are the highlights of the ski report.
Most pistes opened and groomed and only one lift closed.
QUICK PLEA :Do not ski on a closed run.
Our experts ONLY close them for a good reason.
Today’s "excuses" : No snow or Avalanches.
Be careful - adapt to the changing snow,
and ski in control at all times….
The skier above is always responsible for avoiding anyone below.
The frozen surface can be rutted and very hard first thing,
Will gradually soften up when warmed by the sun
Before turning to sticky slush, especially on lower slopes.
Never forget that the snow higher up is better and we have
Fast, comfy lifts to get you down when you are ready to APRES !
ON BELLEVARDE
There is a Free Freestyle competition in the Snow Park - Feel free to join !
The FIS races for Flat countries (no joke) is on the upper parts of the OK Orange
Every morning this week.
The middle of the Orange was not groomed, and this whole slope may close
this afternoon due to risk of avalanche.
As may the avalanche prone Santons.
The lower parts of the Epapule du Charvet
And The Brinzei touring track are closed, as the snow has melted.
ON SOLAISE
The 3000 lift and piste and
The Marmottons are closed all day.
The S and Ecurreil touring track were not groomed.
This track is for experience tourers who can do a nifty kick turn.
The L may close early due to the risk of avalanche.
The Arcelle will probably close late morning,
as even our super skilled groomers are having difficulty
keeping snow on the bottom.
BUT be aware - as the lift will stay open, as it gives access to off piste areas.
LE FORNET
Everything is open except the Tunnel.
The Foret is never groomed so expect
Hard frozen bumps in the morning,
Soft slushy bumps in the afternoon.
The Table d’Orientation was also not groomed.
PISAILLAS
Everything is open and groomed.
NURSERY SLOPE.
Everything is groomed Including the tobogganing track.
The avalanche risk today is 2 out of 5.
If you are heading off piste – do all your companions know what they are doing ?
Do they ALL have a beep, probe and shovel ?
Have they ever practised ?
Your life could depend on this.
The most experienced may be injured or buried.
Sunshine is not always kind -think, time, temperature and exposure of the slope.
Also be aware of any other people or groups in the same area.
Slabs are still ready to turn into slow but
very heavy, wet avalanches.
Any doubts – ski with a mountain guide
IF you set off an avalanche, and luckily nobody is missing or injured,
please still let the Pisteurs know so they don’t spot it,
and spend time searching unnecessarily.
If you are going to Tignes, use either the Tommeuse or Borsat chairlifts.
Our multi activity and cross country tracks on the top of Solaise and in the Manchet valley are open.
A lot of the walking tracks at village level can no longer be groomed
so are officially closed but it is a very good day to
walk in the Manchet Valley, Pont St Charles or take the lifts up and
enjoy the spectacular views at the top of le Fornet or Solaise.

Which until the Col de L’iseran opens, is the only way to get in or out, unless flying, walking or on skis.
