SKI REPORT
For the most up-to-date information please click here
Here are the highlights of the ski report.
Last ski day for many of you -
don’t be tempted to do anything stupid !
Sun, most pistes opened and groomed and only one lift closed.
Never forget that the snow higher up is always better at this time of year.
The lower slopes can be frozen hard in morning,
and melted into deep sticky slush in the afternoon.
Luckily we have fast comfy lifts to get you down
without stressing your knees, or losing your sense of humour.
ON BELLEVARDE
After last night’s good freeze, The Face will be solid this morning.
So, unless you intend to go very fast,
in Perfect Control.
Avoid until it has softened.
There is the Belgium Junior slalom on upper parts of the OK and Orange this morning.
The Brinzei touring track, Epapule du Charvet, bottom of the Diebold
and the Santons are closed.
Never nip under the ropes.
The middle of the orange was not groomed
ON SOLAISE
The 3000 lift and piste and the Marmottons are closed.
The L may close early due to risk of avalanche.
The Ecurreil touring track is never groomed, and pretty “technical” at the moment.
So only for expert tourers.
The Arcelle will be very hard first thing, but may close early as the snow melts.
However the chairlift will remain open for off pisteurs.
LE FORNET
Everything is open except the Tunnel.
The Foret,
And Table d’Orientation were not groomed.
ON PISAILLAS
Everything is open.
All the slopes were groomed except the Aiguille Pers.
The avalanche risk today is 2 out of 5.
There have been several significant “Incidents” recently
though, luckily, no-one has died.
There is still plenty of snow out there ready to form
heavy wet avalanches.
If you are heading off piste –
Do ANY of your companions know what they are doing
Please, only ski with people equipped with beep, probe and shovel
who have practised recently.
Never rely on other people, as it might be The One with The Knowledge
who is injured or buried.
You will need to follow the sun carefully If you are looking for perfect Spring Snow.
Time, temperature and exposure of the slope.
Any doubts – ski with a mountain guide.
If you are going to Tignes, use either the Tommeuse or Borsat chairlifts.
Our multi activity and cross country tracks in the Manchet Valley were groomed.
Those on the top of Solaise are also open and in good condition.
Walkers could take the lifts up and ejoy the views on the top of Solaise or le Fornet.
If you walk along the Pont St Charles – Stop at the Bridge !
The road has been groomed, a bit, past this but this is ONLY
For our emergency services.
This area is prone to avalanches.
EVEN walkers can be buried ……
