Weather:
Today is looking like relatively average weather especially after the glorious week we have had. This morning may be breifly sunny however the sky will cast over mid morning, ahead of a few raindrops around midday. We do hope that a couple of centimetres of snow will fall at altitude. The skies should then clear this afternoon.
The wind will be very light and prevailing from the south east, however it may gust up to 50kmh on the peaks.
Temperatures will remain very mild with a maximum around 11 degrees today in town.
At 09:00 Temperatures were sitting at 7 degrees in town, 0 degrees on the Pisaillas Glacier and 3 degrees on Bellevarde.
Ski Report:
In Le Fornet sector, everything is open today except piste Tunnel which remains closed, piste Foret has also now closed.
Pistes Signal, Table d'Orientation and Petit Bois have not been piste bashed.
On the Pissaillas Glacier, everything is open and groomed today with no exceptions.
Up in Solaise everything will open today except the 3000 drag lift which is still closed due to lack of snow and piste Marmottons which is now closed indefinitely.
Piste Arcelle which is the piste that drops down into the Manchet Valley will open late today and close early, we expect it to be skiable between the hours of 11:00 and 16:00.
Pistes Cugnai and the S have not been groomed.
There is also a chance that the L may close later due to avalanche risk. Keep your eyes peeled for updates.
As for Bellevarde, pistes Santons, Epaule du Charvet and G are now closed for the rest of the season. The bottom of the Diabold blue going into La Daille is also closed.
There is a race on OK Orange this morning so the OK will be available to ski later today.
Some of the walking trails are still open, including Col d l'Iseran, Pont St Charles, Lac de l'Ouillette, Manchet and Marmots.
The cross country trail in the Manchet Valley is open.
..And the ski touring trail Brinzei in La Daille is now closed however Ecureuil is open but due to the lack of snow and frequency of required kick turns we recommend it to experts only.
The avalanche risk is 2/5 today but always take all safety precautions if you are planning an off piste adventure. Be extra careful at the moment as it has been warm for a while the snow is unpredictable.
And, take extra care as the thin snow cover means there is a fair amount of rock exposure. Take care for your own safety and to care for your skis... no one wants to shred them right at the end of the season!
Most importantly, dont forget your avalanche kit, including your transiever, shovel and probe.
Roads:
This morning, the road surfaces were clear.
