Weather

Spring seems to have certainly sprung this week as we have yet another sunny day in store for you today, with just a few couds lurking around this morning but clearing by lunchtime.
The wind is almonst nonexistent, blowing very gently from the North West all day. Temperatures at 0900 were sitting at -9 in the village, -8 on the pisaillas glacier, and -4 on Bellevarde.  We are expecting a maximum of 6 degrees in town today.

Ski Report:

In Le Fornet, everything will open except the piste tunnel.

On the Pissaillas glacier everything will open with no exceptions

Up in Solaise everything is open except the 3000 drag lift which remains closed and will stay closed until we have an extortioate amount of snow, enabling it to open.

Similarly on Bellevarde, everything is open including both Liasons with Tignes, chairs  Tommeuse and Borsat.

All walking and ski touring trails are also open, of which we have two in Val D'Isere, Brinzei in La Daille and Ecureuil in solaise.
As is the beginners area, including the tobogganing area. Lastly, the expert border cross area is also open.

The avalanche risk is 2/5 today.
If you are thinking about heading off piste dont let your excitement overcome your sense, I must reiterate the fact that even when all safety precautions have been taken, the mountains are an unpredictable place where real danger occurs. Signs and warnings must be respected. It goes without saying but If you are heading off piste be sure to take the right equipment with you, including a transiever, shovel and probe. If youve got an experienced person why nopt pack one of those too, or even better hire a guide if you are not sure what you are doing. Nothing is more valuable than knowledge, and the mountains are not to be messed with.

Roads

This morning, the road was clear of snow and ice, however as always do take care when moving around on pavements. Ski boots and ice are not friends.
