WEATHER
A mixed day clouds and sun, but mostly clouds.
We should have a few flakes this afternoon before
a cold front returns this evening,
bringing snow down to 1200 meters.
We have been told that a south westerly wind may blow at up to 110 kilometres per hour,
but we are eternal optimists so hoping that this isn’t true.
Certainly seems pretty calm at the 09.30.
Meteo France may have just meant the wind was going to hurl through the valley and not at altitiude.
BUT if it does pick up, lifts may close.
At 9.50 the temperature is
- +4° in the Village.
- -3° on Bellevarde.
- -7° on Pisaillas.
with a wind blowing at around 35 km/hour.
The maximum temperature at 2000 metres will be +4°
ROADS
There are no problems expected on the roads at the moment.
SKI REPORT

Highlights include :
Go and cheer our British soldiers who are racing on
the Upper parts of OK and Orange.
The Santons and L pistes may well close early.
We know how tempting these runs can be
but the pisteurs do not close runs just to annoy you !
We can assure you that they won’t be their usual charming selves if they have to
Risk their lives to dig you out of an avalanche
on a run they took the expert decision to close.
The avalanche risk today is 3 out of 5
This is a considerable risk.
Slabs could take you for a ride over rocks and into holes,
Think carefully before skiing off piste.
Do you know the current snow conditions ?
Are all of your team properly equipped and trained ?
Off piste is anything outside the marked pistes.
Even between pistes, even a metre or so.
How does your Insurance company feel about you skiing off piste ?
They may be delighted that they can decline to pay for your rescue.
Many ski insurance policies do not cover off piste.
MAYBE check yours.
The pisteurs would like to remind you that the areas marked “Zone tranquille” are quiet areas,
where beginners can pootle around and learn without
being terrified by others speeding by.
