Weather :
A good morning it will be as we have sunshine on the cards for you all day. There may be a few high clouds creeping in this afternoon but the day will feel predominantly spring like.
The wind is expected to be light, prevailing from the south east this morning, picking up to a gentle 10kmh this afternoon.
Temperatures are set to reach a high of 6 degrees in town, and 4 at 2000m so it will feel mild in all your ski gear.
At 09:00, temperatures were sitting at -3 degrees on Bellevarde, -6 degrees in town, and -6 degrees on the Pisaillas glacier.

Roads:

This morning, the road surface was clear, but ice is still making its presence known on the pavements so take extra care when moving around on foot.

/// Municipal Council
Yesterday morning, the March municipal council meeting took place with 14 elected officials present. During the session, nine topics were discussed. Among them, the membership to the National Association of Mountain Resort Mayors sparked debate. The issue of the human resources department was also addressed. Other points were discussed in detail, including parking issues and the financial situation of the SEM.
During the open-floor questions at the end of the agenda, five topics were raised, such as phone network issues during peak tourist periods, delivery logistics, the new and old bus stations, the lack of activities in hamlets like La Daille and Le Fornet, and finally, the potential presence of Val d'Isère in the 2030 Winter Olympics. The next municipal council meeting will take place on Monday, April 7, at 8:30 AM in the Council Room at Maison Marcel Charvin.

/// Presentation of Soft Mobility Studies
Since last October, three students from the University of Savoie Mont-Blanc have been studying soft mobility in Val d'Isère. They will now present their findings.
Their research covered various topics, including the La Daille–village center–Fornet connection, links with the new bus station, and signage improvements. The students explored the area, conducted numerous interviews with stakeholders and users, and surveyed over 190 people.
They will present their findings to the mayor and key local stakeholders this morning at 9:30 AM in the Council Room at Maison Marcel Charvin.

/// Val d'Isère Sports Club Results
Last week, several young athletes from the Val d'Isère Sports Club competed in various regional events and we have an impressive amount of podium results this week.
For the women in the U14 Bronze Cup in Val d'Isère, Manon Trioullier won silver in the Super-G, while Katrina Schiewing placed fifth. Manon also secured third place in the sprint race.
In the U10 Bronze Cup in Tignes, Heidi Riebel earned a bronze medal in the first Super-G race but narrowly missed the podium in the second race, followed closely by Jahyana Gonnellaz Kaufmann.
In the U14 Bronze Cup in Val d'Isère , Timéo Lefranc took silver in the Super-G, while Ugo Perraud finished fifth. In the sprint race, young local athletes stood out: Timéo Lefranc won, followed by Sacha Falies. Edouard Pierre came in fourth, and Ugo Perraud took fifth place.
In Tignes, for the first U10 Bronze Cup Super-G race, Roméo Eliakim Bauer won gold, while Roméo Bianchi finished fourth. In the second race, Roméo Bianchi claimed first place, Roméo Eliakim Bauer took bronze, and Marceau Deiss followed closely behind.

/// Mardi Gras
On this Mardi Gras day, Val d'Isère Téléphériques staff swap their uniforms for their best costumes. Skiers can enjoy a festive carnival atmosphere across the entire Val d'Isère ski area from 9 AM to 4:30 PM.

/// ESF Show
After being canceled last Tuesday due to weather conditions, the ESF Show returns tonight on the Face de Bellevarde.
The instructors from the French Ski School will put on a vibrant spectacle, featuring freestyle performances, a torchlit descent, synchronized skiing, fireworks, and many surprises.
Hot drinks will be available, with a €2 deposit for reusable cups. The event starts at 7:15 PM at the bottom of the Face de Bellevarde.
