Weather:
A good morning it will be as we have sunshine on the cards for you all day. There may be a few high clouds creeping in this afternoon but the day will feel predominantly spring like.
Wind wise there is still some Foehn wind around, today it will prevail from the south east, picking up to a gentle 15kmh this afternoon.
Temperatures are set to reach a high of 6 degrees in town, and 1 at 2000m so a clear and relatively warm day.
Temperatures at 09:00 were sitting at 0 degrees on Bellevarde, -2 degrees in town, and -6 degrees on the Pisaillas glacier.
As spring is well and truly underway, the UV index is set to reach 4 today, meaning you may catch some sun, I would advise you to remember your sunglasses and suncream. Arguably panda tans are quite cool, but for the sake of your skin its probably best to keep them at bay...
If you're heading up the mountain today, you are in for a treat, the weather is splendid and almost everything is set to open.
In Le Fornet sector, everything will open today except the piste tunnel which remains closed.
On the Pissaillas Glacier, conditions are great, and everything will open without any restrictions.
Up in Solaise everything will open except the 3000 drag lift which is still closed due to lack of snow
As for Bellevarde, it's all go, including both liaisons with Tignes—the Tommeuse and Borsat chairs are both running, so you’ll have no trouble getting across.
All walking and ski touring trails are also opening, so plenty of options for those looking to explore.
The avalanche risk is 1/5 today.
Although there isnt a huge amount of fresh powder on the ground it is still around and with this beautiful weather you may be keen to head off piste.
I must remind you that the avalanche risk is always to be taken seriously, If you are heading off piste make sure you have got all the kit, dont be an all the gear and no idea kind of person … make sure you know how to use it! This includes a transiever, shovel and probe. If you've got an experienced person or two handy take one of those too, or even better hire a guide if you are not sure what you are doing!
Roads:
On the roads, the surfaces are clear, but be mindful of slippery pavements when walking around. Take care out there on foot!
