SKI REPORT
For the most up-to-date information please click here.
Here are the highlights of the ski report.
Nearly everything is both open and groomed.
Only 1 lift will be closed all day.
ON BELLEVARDE
The annual slalom competition of the Ski Club of Great Britian
is on the Stade de Bonnevie at the bottom of the Borsat chairlift 10.00 – 13.00.
Go and cheer them on !
The Brinzei touring track was prepared in advance of tonight’s Avaline Trax race.
The last steep wall of the Epaule du Charvet was not groomed.
There is no artificial snow in this area, so it can only be groomed after
it has had 20 cm or so of new snow.
The G was also not groomed last night.
ON SOLAISE
The 3000 lift and piste are closed.
The S, Marmottons and Ecureuil touring track were not groomed.
LE FORNET
Everything is open except the Tunnel.
The Foret, Petit Bois and Signal were not groomed.
PISAILLAS
Everything is open and groomed.
NURSERY SLOPE
Everything is open and groomed.
The avalanche risk today is 1 out of 5.
Low risk but never no risk.
If you are heading off piste -
do you really know where you are going and what you are doing?
Make sure all your team have a beep, probe and shovel,
know how to use them and have practised recently.
Any doubts ? Ski with a mountain guide.
If you are going to Tignes,
use either the Tommeuse or Borsat chairlifts.
All of our walking, multi activity and cross country tracks are open.
Instead of a pisteur, Gregg, the charming head of our grooming team,
was with us in the studio this morning.
He reminded us that there are up to 15 huge machines
on our slopes from early evening until the morning.
Many are attached to huge cables which a skier may not see.
This is very dangerous, and yet another reason you are not allowed
to ski down closed pistes…..
Skiers are small, machines big and heavy.
Do the maths - combining the two will be messy.
LOCAL NEWS
Yesterday evening, the sounds of classical music once again filled our Church.
The talent of the musicians is such that it is no surprise that the concert was sold out.
This evening, at 18.00, 4 musicians will be at the Barmes de L’Ours Hotel
to play for the chosen few who have been invited
for the recital and drinks
before Classicaval leaves us for this season.
We hope this popular festival will return next winter.
Are you a ski tourer ready for a challenge ?
The Avaline Trax Ski Mountaineering Race takes place again this evening.
Good luck to the fiercely fit 100 or so, who this evening will zoom nearly
500 vertical metres through la Daille forest before arriving at the top of the bubble lift.
They will be rewarded at the Tontons restaurant in la Daille’s Val Square
with well-deserved refreshment, and prizes.
There are 2 categories :
the carefully timed must belong to the Mountain Sport organisations FFME or FFCAM,
or be able to produced medical certificates when registering.

so have a 30 minute headstart.

but don't forget you need a head lamp.
