The Vol et Ski participants did well to postpone their French championships earlier in the month, the event was finally able to go ahead yesterday with perfect weather conditions; bright sunshine and no wind. On the off-piste slopes near Marmottons in the Manchet valley, the 20 or so participants completed three runs, which was so pleasant to watch.
Equipped with a parachute and skis on their feet, the paragliders had to complete several precision tests. Sometimes it was necessary to perform a touch and go on a target on the ground, sometimes tap stakes in the ground, or even throw a carrot from the air to try to get it into a snow hole. Events which required great precision and mastery of flight. Throughout the course several volunteers checked the participants' performances.

Last Docu-Sunday of the season tonight at 8:30 p.m. at the Splendid cinema. For this last session, the film “The Adventure” by Marianne Chaud will be presented. This documentary follows the story of several African exiles who cross the French-Italian border, often on foot, via snowy mountain passes.
The videographer left the Himalayan mountains, where she had made several documentaries, to return to Briançon, her home, to tell these stories. Wanting to go further than the usual media treatment reserved for these migrants, Marianne Chaud spent 3 years filming their stories. The result is a touching film, far from clichés. This documentary received numerous awards, notably at the La Rochelle festival.
Check it out at 8:30 p.m. this evening at the Val d'Isère cinema, followed by an exchange with Marianne Chaud.
