Weather

After a vibrant sunrise this morning, conditions will be generally calm. However, a layer of cloud will arrive throughout the day, becoming quite dense, with a chance of snow flurries tonight. Light winds can be expected across the mountains throughout the day.
Another mild start to the morning, at 9 a.m. it's -2°C in the village, 0.5°C at the summit of Bellevarde and -2°C at Pisaillas. The warming trend continues, expecting a maximum of 7°C at 2000m

Calmer traffic is forecasted on the roads today, after a long and trying day yesterday. “Only” 18,000 vehicles are expected on the way up and 22,000 on the way down today. Fluid traffic is expected all day for arrivals, and some small temporary difficulties for departures, between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. then again between 6 - 8 p.m.

Ski Report

Great conditions across the entire ski area , with all lifts and practically all runs open to the public today.
The Pisaillas and Fornet sectors will be open, with all runs apart from the Tunnel.

Over on Solaise, everything is open, likewise on the snowfront. With the warm temperatures in the afternoon, there is a chance piste L may close later this afternoon.

In the Bellevarde sector, there is race training this morning on the Raye, and it will re-open to the public later in the day. The Santons run may close this afternoon due to rising avalanche danger. Skiing in Tignes can be accessed via both the Borsat and Tommeuse chairlifts.

Cross Country skiers and Pedestrians can choose from any of our trails and ski loops today, apart from the Branges.

The avalanche risk is 2/5 today. Always ski with a partner, have the appropriate gear and know how to use it, and if in doubt hire a guide.

Local News

An announcement was made Friday afternoon on the local Facebook page "Le groupe des Pros" that the Fornet sector will close its doors to skiers on April 21st. The area will be closing two weeks early, allowing Val d'Isère Téléphériques to prepare for construction on the Vallon gondola, set to begin as soon as the season ends. The schedule is very tight, with a projected opening for Christmas 2024,so every day of work counts. The Pisaillas sector will remain open with access via the Leissières chairlift and the Col drag lift.
The Solaise and Bellevarde sectors will remain unchanged, as well as the liasons with Tignes, as long as the weather and snow permit.
Lift ticket pricing will also be reduced for the last week of the season, down to €39 per day from April 28th to May 5th
