And warm.
At 7.30 the temperature was

-4° on Pisaillas where the wind was blowing at an average of 50 km/hour.
ROADS
There are no problems expected on the roads in Val today BUT….
If you are heading out of town towards Bourg, today or tomorrow,
Take note - there are roadworks in Seez.
The road will be completely blocked 08.00 today – 17.00 tomorrow.
There will be a diversion, but it could be slow.
Annoying if you are going to LidL
Scary if you are rushing for a plane…
SKI REPORT
For the most up-to-date information please click here
Here are the highlights of the ski report.
No freeze last night, but a few centimetres of new snow on Solaise.
Only 2 lifts are closed but quite a few of the lower slopes are closed
as the warmth melts the snow -
So either rocky or avalanche prone.
But the advantage of a huge playground Is that there is still plenty of skiing !
Please don’t ski on a run closed by our experts.
The snow higher up Is better.
You may find deep sticky slush on the lower slopes.
LUCKILY we have fast comfy lifts to get you down
without wrecking your body or testing your sense of humour.
ON BELLEVARDE
All slopes were groomed except the Face and Stade Olympique.
The Lanches drag lift is the only lift that is closed
The following slopes are CLOSED
DON’T’ nip under the ropes
The Santons
The Brinzei touring track
Epapule du Charvet
Lanches
Village perdu
G
bottoms of the Diebold, and Orange.
The Border Cross may close if visibility makes it dangerous.
Part of Monde du Gypaete may be closed as they are preparing for
next weeks Alpine Park freestyle event.
There is training on the upper part of the Orange and OK this morning.
ON SOLAISE
The following are closed :
The 3000 lift and piste
The Marmottons
The L
The Aiglon
The Arcelle
Eccureil
S
Mattis
Route du col
And traverse du laisinant
The Manchet chairlift is still open for off pisteurs
LE FORNET
Everything is open except the Tunnel and The Foret.
The Signal and Table d’Orientation were not groomed.
ON PISAILLAS
Everything is open and all the slopes were groomed.
ON THE NURSERY SLOPE
Everything is melting fast.
The tobagonnaing track is almost definitely closed.
The avalanche risk today has risen to 3 out of 5.
This is a significant risk, especially on lower slopes as there wasn’t a freeze last night
So slabs liable to slip and slide ………..causing heavy wet avalanches
If you are heading off piste –
If any of your friends are better with a beer than a beep -
Hire a mountain guide
Never ski Off piste with anyone who doesn’t have a beep, probe and shovel.
Your life could depend on their skill using this essential kit.
If you are going to Tignes, use either the Tommeuse or Borsat chairlifts.
Our multi activity and cross country tracks
In the manchet valley are partially open.
Those on the top of Solaise are also open.
For walkers - you could take the lifts up to the top of Solaise or le Fornet.
Or walk along the Pont st Charles, but stop at the bridge.
The area beyond is prone to avalanches.
EVEN walkers can be buried.
