On the roads today we have snowy conditions, during the winter, snow chains or winter tyres are mandatory for all vehicles in Savoie.

Storm
Meteorologists are calling for caution today, as Savoie is one of the 29 departments placed on orange alert for heavy snow and strong winds. Arriving from Scotland it will complicate access to ski resorts. Heavy snowfall is expected up to 40 centimeters to one meter at an altitude of 1,800 meters in the Alps. At the same time, the wind will blow up to 100 km/h in our mountains. Note that the risk of avalanches will become larger, starting tomorrow.
New Bus Station
To start the end-of-year holidays, the new bus station has received its first passengers. While it is not yet finished, the Municipality has opened up the reception building to the public for the holidays, in order to shelter passengers in case of cold and snowfall. Decorations will be put up throughout this week to make the space more welcoming. The building will close its doors again at the beginning of January, to complete the rest of the work. Including public toilets, roof insulation, and better public lighting. Unfortunately the official opening took longer than expected due to a delayed delivery of the framework. The building should be fully operational and ready to welcome holidaymakers around January 2025.
Senior Afternoon Tea
This afternoon, seniors are celebrating Christmas with the traditional Christmas snack from 3 p.m, in the Council Chamber. The gathering is to celebrate the end of the year, all with a slice of cake of course! They will also receive their gift packages from the Social Action Community Center and the municipality.
Firefighters' Calendar
The firefighters have unveiled their new calendar for the year 2025! Going door-to-door to individuals and businesses distributing their calendar. The Val d'Isère firefighters took the photographs a few months back now, ready to publish in the 800 copies they plan to sell this season.
All proceeds go towards the Avalin firefighters, in particular the association l'Œuvre des Pupilles, whose mission is to help orphans of fires. For people who missed the arrival of the firefighters at their door, it is possible to come and collect a calendar at the first aid station of the Val d'Isère barracks.
Santa Claus Firefighters
Santa Claus also took a quick trip to the station to surprise to the children of the local firefighters.
The booking center is open from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The Tourist Office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The Aquasport Center is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- At 5 pm: the Fat Bike initiation at the chalet located opposite the Aquasportif Center.
- The Red Shuttle will be circulating between La Daille and the Fornet every 5 minutes from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and then every 10 minutes until 2:30 a.m.
- A free shuttle runs between the Pont St Charles and the Fornet, every half hour, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- The Yellow shuttle, up to the Manchet Valley, leaves every 20 minutes between 8:30 a.m. and 11:20 p.m.
- The Blue shuttle going up to the Legattaz is every 15 minutes between 8:30 a.m and 11 p.m.
- The free shuttle between Tignes and Val d'Isère runs 6 times a day :
