SKI REPORT

For the most up-to-date information please click here
Here are the highlights of the ski report.

Another good day to be skiing in Val,
as only 1 lift and 2 pistes will be closed all day,
and most pistes were groomed last night.

ON BELLEVARDE
The upper parts of the OK and orange, and the Raye
Will be closed this morning for training, but then open to everyone.

ON SOLAISE
The 3000 lift and piste are closed.
The S, Cugnai, Marmottons, Rhone Alpes and Route du Col were not groomed.
For tourers the Ecureuil track is never groomed.

LE FORNET
Everything is open and groomed except the Tunnel.
The Foret is never groomed.
The Vallon was also not groomed last night.

ON PISAILLAS
Everything is open and groomed.

ON THE NURSERY SLOPE
Everything is open and groomed.
Including the tobogganing area.

The avalanche risk today is 1 out of 5, as there was a good freeze last night.
Never no risk, there are still slabs out there – more likely to move as the day warms up.
If tempted to ski off piste look closely at your group.
Do they all have a beep, probe and shovel ?
Know how to use them, have practised recently ?
Listen to any doubts…Stay on piste or book to ski with a mountain guide.

If you are going to Tignes use the Tommeuse or  Borsat chairlifts.

A plea from our pisteurs :
Please control your speed, particularly approaching the nursery slope
And the quiet zones.
Skiing in control is a fine thing….
The skier arriving from above is always responsible for avoiding people below.
However weirdly they wobble. No ifs. No buts.

Yesterday there was a terrible collision on Bellevarde.
A lady was helicoptered to hospital after breaking her
humerus, femur and pelvis.

Can we also remind you to check you have insurance that covers skiing.
If not, you can buy it for just over 3 euros a day, from our lift pass offices.
Our expert rescue services are neither free, nor cheap.
Especially when a helicopter is involved.

All of our walking, multi activity and cross country tracks are open.

HUGE Congratulations to Roscoe Schneiwind.

In yesterday’s Carre Neige Cup
(The Savoie under twelve giant slalom championship)
He was the fastest for his year.
The fastest boy from Val d’Isėre.
15th out of the 113 who started,
3.27 seconds behind the winning older boy.

Olivia Angus, 100% British blood, but also brought up in Val,
did very well in the girls race -the 2nd fastest time for her year in the 2nd run.
Unfortunately the 1st run had not gone so well,
and you need to finish both runs to get on the podium.
Well done Olivia for giving the 2nd run your all

Racing is tough !
