SKI REPORT

Most lifts are running and most pistes are open and have been groomed overnight.

Click here for the most up to date information.

The Rogoney chairlift at the bottom of our slopes
Has a techie problem, that the techie people are focusing on fixing ASAP.

For those desperate to avoid taking a lift,
The Brinzei touring track should open tomorrow

Go to the Snow Park if you fancy
Flying over bumps.
Jumping on a piste is not cool.
You may not have seen the small child, just over the roll…..

Be careful especially if you have been to le Fornet in previous years.
The start of the Mangard has dramatically changed.
There is a significant cross roads.
Take note of the sign posts……..
Slow down !

If you have a ski pass that covers Tignes,
and are heading for a change of scene,
you can take either the Tommeuses or the Borsat chairlifts.

The avalanche risk today is 2 out of 5.
Lower than earlier this week but the risk is still there.
There are plenty of wind slabs on a fragile base.
Ready to take you for a wild ride.

Before venturing off our marked pistes,
THINK
What were  your team doing last night ?
Are they a wee bit under par this morning ?
Or are they fighting fit and ready to
use their beep, probe and shovel to
find and dig you out quickly ?

If you are with someone who has an accident,
on or off piste, remember that the phone number
for our ski patrol is on the back of your ski pass.
Why not put the number in your phone now
along with the +33 code for France.

Beginners, we want you to enjoy every minute on our slopes.
The best conditions are on the higher slopes.
Consider taking the fast, comfy lifts down,
particularly if your night was short
and your legs are tired.

Walkers have a good choice of prepared tracks.
Why not take the most of todays sunshine and enjoy the views
at the top of the new vallon bubbles in le Fornet,
or around the lake at the top of Solaise.
Dogs are welcome to join you in our closed lifts.
NEVER forget to pick up their poo !

LOCAL NEWS

Busier than usual on the walk to work
Your New Years resolution
to be up bright and early was off to a bang !
There were glittery outfits, singing and shrieks of joy.
The radio dogs had a feast, cleaning the streets
of Pizza and chips.
Music blared from one of the restaurants.
There was a queue for a Burger breakfast.

The pharmacy, this morning,
could be busier than the slopes

Whatever your resolutions for 2025
Health ?
Wealth ?
Wisdom ?
Good luck following them through.

No-one can have missed either the spectacular Show on the Face de Bellevarde
or the fireworks afterwards.
Thanks to 300 of our brightest ski instructors who demonstrated a perfect descent,
while DJ Fabio made our toes tap.
Almost 4300 wrapped up well to be there in person,
while others peered through their windows,
staying cosy, with canape in one hand and champagne in the other.

The fireworks continued……….
Exploding into the clear sky
from North, South, East and West until way after midnight.

Patrick Martin sends everyone, locals and visitors,
His Best wishes for this New Year.

If you are not one of the many abandoning our ski haven this weekend,
join the mayor for his traditional 6th January presentation
where he looks back at 24 and share his Resolutions for 25.
