WEATHER

It was supposed to be mostly cloudy today with snow down to 800 metres this morning,
and continuing this afternoon, still below the village level
though quite not as far down.
Over today and tonight, 10 centimetres is expected on the piste.
Little and often is a good policy !

BUT at 10.00 we have blue skies and sunshine.......not sure how long that will last but we will enjoy it while it is here !

A southerly wind could blow at up to 50 km/hour above 2500 metres.
Out of the wind it is warmish, with a maximum temperature of +1 at 2000 metres.

At 8.30 the temperature was

  • -3° in the Village.
  • -5° on Solaise.
  • -7° on Bellevarde.
  • -9° on Pisaillas.

ROADS

SKI REPORT

For the most up-to-date information please click here.
Here are the highlights of the ski report.

Plenty of pistes to pick for your last day.
Nearly everything is both open  and groomed.
Only 1 lift will be closed all day.

ON BELLEVARDE
The Epaule du Charvet was not groomed.
The upper parts of the OK and orange are closed for training
this morning but then open for everyone to enjoy.
The Border cross may close if the visibility, or lack of viz, makes it dangerous.
The Santons may close due to the risk of an avalanche filling this gulley.

PLEASE :
Never ski on a closed run.
Why do you think you know better than our experts ?

ON SOLAISE
The 3000 lift and piste are closed.
The Marmottons and Ecureuil touring track were not groomed.

LE FORNET
Everything is open except the Tunnel.
The Foret was not groomed.

ON both PISAILLAS AND the NURSERY SLOPE
Everything is open and groomed.

The avalanche risk today is 2 out of 5.
The wind has been mean, blowing the snow around.
There are still slabs ready to go, and it is quite warm.
Several areas “moved” in the last few days, though luckily no fatalities.

If you are heading off piste – think carefully.
Do you really know where you are going?
The visibility may be challenging today and there are plenty of
Rocks, holes and cliffs out there….
Do all your team have a beep, probe and shovel ?
Know how to use them ?
Have practised recently ?
If you have any doubts, ski with a mountain guide.

If you are going to Tignes,
use either the Tommeuse or  Borsat chairlifts.

All of our walking, multi activity and cross country tracks are open.
