WEATHER

Beautiful sunny day with clear blue sky.
There was 4 cm of snow on the pistes overnight.
It is warmer than yesterday.
At 10.30  the temperature is

  • +5° in the Village.
  • +2° on Solaise.
  • +2° on Bellevarde.
  • -3° on Pisaillas.

The maximum temperature at 2000 metres will be +10°

ROADS

No problems are expected on the roads today.

SKI REPORT

All our lifts are open and most pistes were groomed overnight.
The following are likely to close early due to the high risk of avalanches.

  • L
  • Santons
  • Combe du Geant

Please keep off closed slopes.

This morning, there is racing and training,
including national competitions so the standard is very high, on the

  • Upper part of the OK
  • Upper part of the Orange
  • 3J
  • G
  • Raye

In the Snowpark,
the competition that was cancelled due to yesterday's weather
is happening this morning.
It is free, open to everyone,
and there are prizes to be won.

The lower part of the Epaule du Charvet was not groomed,
so don’t be fooled by the smooth upper area !

The timing of grooming is a science plus a touch of gambling...
too early and they can make a mess,
too late and it can be difficult to get a smooth surface.
Snow landing on top of a groomed slope just adds to the fun.

The tunnel piste is open, but remember that it is

  • Very black
  • Not groomed
  • Steep
  • Narrow
  • With beautiful bumps –
But that « beauty » was in the eyes of our Head Ski Patroller.
    You might feel differently !

You can always go up the 3000 draglift,
through the actual tunnel through the mountain,
enjoy the view of Le Fornet,
before going back down the 3000 piste to Solaise,

Other pistes not groomed last night are

AT LE FORNET

  • Fôret
  • Signal
  • Tunnel

ON PISAILLAS

  • Cascade

ON SOLAISE

  • Combe Martin
  • Rhône- Alpes
  • Marmottons

Tignes can be accessed via the Tommeuses and  Borsat chairlifts.

The avalanche risk today is a significant 3 out of 5.
There was a bit of a refreeze, but is not likely to be hard.

All our cross county tracks and walking paths are open and recently groomed except :

  • Les Branges
  • Laisinant

Remember that the snow on the lower pistes is likely to be
soft and heavy once the sun has warmed it up.
Don't forget, you can save your legs and sense of humour
by taking a lift down.
