WEATHER

At 09.20 it was snowing (gently) and we had blue skies - quite an unusual and pretty combo !
It is going to be sunny day, more like we are used to at the end of April.
Though not warm. It is chilly........but no wind
The temperature is currently

  • -5° in the Village.
  • -10° on Solaise.
  • -11° on Bellevarde.
  • -17° on Pisaillas.

The maximum temperature at 2000 metres will be +2°

ROADS

No problems are expected on our roads.

SKI REPORT

New snow, pistes in  great condition, quiet resort and the sun is out !
All lifts and pistes are already open.

Due to this years challenge of  replacing the bubbles,
Le Fornet below the Col draglift is strictly off limits.

You can still access the Pisaillas glacier :
From Solaise, take either
the comfy option of the Leissieres chairlift
Or, until it closes on Sunday, the more challenging route of the
3000 draglift followed by the  bumpy black Tunnel run.

The only way home  is via the Up & Over (Leissieres) chairlift back to Solaise.

If you try skiing down to le Fornet, you risk being run over by a
very big machine.
They are very busy.
Please don't make their life more difficult.

The following are closed for the season :

  • The Bellevarde and the Loyes chairlifts
  • Brinzei touring track
  • Lanches draglift and piste.

  • the lower parts of the:
  • Marmottons
  • Epaule du Charvet

On Bellevarde they are preparing for this weekends
Alpine Park Event.

There is training on the upper parts of the
OK and the Orange this morning.

The Combe du Geant on Pisaillas may close early
due to the high risk of avalanche.

Most pistes were groomed overnight.

The few exceptions are :

ON SOLAISE

  • Combe Martin
  • 3000
  • Marmottons
  • S

ON BELLEVARDE

  • Epaule du charvet

ON PISAILLAS

  • Aiguille Pers
  • Combe du Geant

Tignes can be accessed via the Tommeuses
and the Borsat chairlifts.

The avalanche risk today is 2 out of 5.
If you are thinking of skiing off piste,
Be careful as there are still slabs and the
risk of small avalanches.
Consider how much use your buddies
would be in an Emergency.
Maybe ski with a mountain guide.

Cross country skiers can enjoy the groomed tracks

  • On Manchet
  • Lac d'Ouillette

All our walking paths are open except for

  • Les Branges
  • Joseray
  • Col de l'Iseran

The purpose is in the title « Debrief ».
130 professionals will be there, reviewing this winter (which was good!) and looking forward  to the next.
Always looking to improve the environment and the conditions for those that work hard
so holidaymakers have a fab time.
Tomorrow they are all going to ski !
Rude not to with our current conditions.

The team at Maison de Val are in party mode.
Not yet another 'closing', because they don't actually « close »
but a suitable end of season knees up with this years theme
« The Beach ».
Starts at 18.30 and goes on until midnight.
Expect music, karaoke, dance competition, an intriguingly titled ‘Blind Test’
and a buffet with refreshements provided by the
Vie Val d'Is - the club for local employees.
Sounds like a lot of fun !
