Ski Report

It's looking to be a beautiful day in the mountains with all lifts in the ski area currently in operation. Almost all runs are open, most of which were groomed overnight.

The Pisaillas area will be open for skiing today with all lifts and runs open to the public, apart from the Pay Desert Border Cross. As for the Fornet area, all runs are open apart from the Tunnel.

Over on Solaise, all lifts will be open. The only closed run in the area is the Piste L. Everything is open on the snowfront today, including the tobogganing area.

In the Bellevarde sector, the Stade Olympique will be closed to the public due to race preparations. Otherwise all other runs will be open today including notably the Santons. Skiing in Tignes can be accessed via either the Tommeuses or Borsat lifts.

Cross Country skiers and Pedestrians can choose from any of our trails and loops today.

The avalanche risk is 3/5 today. Always ski with a partner, have the appropriate gear and know how to use it, and if in doubt hire a guide.

After the Criterium de la Première Neige a month ago, the Face de Bellevarde is once again entering competition mode. FIS races will take place Wednesday and Thursday at the Olympic Stadium. Competition is a level below the Alpine Ski World Cup and the European Cup, however the level of talent will be high for these two men's events. Both slalom races are registered on the Ski Chrono Samse Tour calendar, a collection of forty races throughout the winter.
Approximately 100 athletes are expected on the Face de Bellevarde on Wednesday and Thursday for these races, with complete coverage by Radio Val. Please note, that due to the racing the Olympic stadium will be closed to skiers on Wednesday and Thursday. However, the Face and Joseray will remain open.

The village seniors are meeting this afternoon for a moment of decadence, at the invitation of the CCAS. At 2:30 p.m. at the Marcel Charvin house, our elderly will celebrate the epiphany by sharing a galette des rois. The lucky ones who find the 'fève' will of course be crowned.
