WEATHER
Sunny with big blue sky at the moment but apparently
At the end of the morning it will be a bit more cloudy
But bringing more snow….. perhaps 15 centimetres …..
However we may have rain in town.
Wind starts gently from the south west,
before a mean westerly wind of up to 70 kilometres per hour.
At 9.50 the temperature is
+5° in the Village.
+2° on Solaise.
+1° on Bellevarde.
-3° on Pisaillas.
The maximum temperature at 2000 metres will be +7°.
ROADS
No problems on the road if you stay in Val, but if you are travelling this evening,
Listen carefully.
The only route out is closed 22.00 – 06.00.
Tonight and tomorrow.
Not quite as grim as it sounds, as they will open the road occasionally.
Maybe once an hour.
They are also working on a tunnel between Moutiers and Albertville.
There is a diversion, just leave extra time….
Especially if you are rushing for a flight.
SKI REPORT

And 3000 and Lanches draglifts which are closed for the season.
The snow higher up is better.
The pistes may be rock hard first thing before warmed by the sun
When you may find deep sticky slush on the lower slopes.
Luckily we have fast comfy lifts to get you down
without wrecking your legs or spirit.
ON BELLEVARDE
All groomed except lower part of the Face which is ‘Very Black’.
The Santons is open.

The pisteurs Have an interview-type-test thing
going on in the Grand Vallon today.
The avalanche risk today 2 out of 5.
This is a significant risk.
As the sun warms the slopes there is still the chance of
heavy wet avalanches.
Don’t get caught in one.
If you are heading off piste –
Do you know what you are doing and where you are going ?
Do all of your team have a beep, probe and shovel and have practised recently ?
Nope ? Hire a mountain guide or stay on our beautiful pistes.
If you are going to Tignes, use either the Tommeuse or Borsat chairlifts.
Our multi activity and cross country tracks on the top of Solaise are open.
You could walk along the Pont St Charles, which still has some snow,
Or the Manchet Valley
or take the lifts up to the top of Solaise or le Fornet.
Top pisteur tips
1. Suncream
2. Adapt your speed as the sun warms the snow…..
Flattering when you get perfect velvety spring snow.
Leg breaking if you make a dodgey turn in deep slush.
LOCAL NEWS
More works - this time in our IT department, here at Radio Val.
We will go quiet at 11.00 today, and you will have to manage without us
Somehow, until we are reconnected sometime between 15.00- 18.00.
Earlier this week we mentioned problems with discarded rubbish.
The people studying this carefully, looking for solutions, gave a presentation yesterday.
They applied Behavioural Science before concluding
there is not just one type of litter criminal,
And put it down to how the human behaves in different circumstances.
Broadly divided into 4 categories.
Party animals, apparently less ‘attentive’ .
Suspect this includes the bits of pizza my dogs so enjoy on their walk to work.
Randomly discarded litter on the mountain, inexcusable.
Piles around the Moloks, or huge bins, or huts.
Sadly no instant solutions.
A workshop looking at ways to tackle this will take place at 14.00 next Monday.
Fancy something other than slush this afternoon ?
Evolution Two have organised Val’s first Val'athon.

On Sunday locally raised Director Charlene Favier presented her film “Slalom”.
This evening she will be there with you in our cinema
For the screening of her latest film “Oxana”
Which was only released last Wednesday.
3 more medals were presented to loyal clients last night.
A bronze for Clarisse Confais Guigon who first arrived as a four-year-old,
moved to Grenoble to be closer to our mountains
and even enjoys our interseasons, which are pretty quiet.
We really should advertise as a marriage bureau ..
as her parents were one of many couples that met here.
And Brigitte Reveillin Falcoz, who now has a silver medal, got married here…
In ski kit, with Claudie Haigneré, the first French lady to go into space, as her witness.
But her husband, Bruno Revellin Falcoz, beat them both with a platinum medal
for returning for 73 years.
No surprise he has so many friends here ….
One Easter Monday, after climbing to the top of the Sana, he shared a “snack”.
Lobster and champagne…..
